"Vidhata Talapuna" - A Sirivennela Masterpiece

Vidhata talapuna prabhavinchinadi anaadi jeevana vedam...OM...

Vidhata (The Supreme Being, according to some schools of thought on Hinduism, OM) - Through the vibrations of OM (vedam = eternal, something that doesn't have a beginning or an end is compared to the universe) the entire universe is said to have emerged.

Prananadulaku spandananosagina aadi pranavanaadam...OM..

Prananadulaku = Living Beings
Spandananosagina = Heartbeat/individuality
Pranavanaadam = First Sound (Also, OM)
The birth of all living beings, the one that sustains life through our heartbeats is also through the pranavanaadam (OM).

Kanula kolanulo pratibimbinchina viswaroopa vinyaasamm...

The entire universe (vishwaroopam, also can be referred to OM again) is reflected (pratibimbinchina = counterreflections) in the pools of our eyes..Vinyaasam = one of the 13 lakshanas of raaga

Yedakanumalalo prathidhwaninchina virinchi vipanchi gaanam...

From the depths of my heart echoes the chanting of OM, composed by the Creator Brahma (Virinchi, in the 1st kalpa - by the way it is the 7th kalpa now, making Brahma "Shatanand" - In case you are wondering what a "kalpa" is, Brahma has a life span of one kalpa; At the end of which, even he ceases to exist giving way to his successor- a new Brahma.) and veena ayyi (vipanchi = Saraswati devi chetilo unna veena) vinipinchanu :)

Sarasaswarasurajhareegamanamavu samaveda saramidi...
Nepaadina jeevana geetham...ee geetham..

This song that I sing today, which carries the essence of Life is as sweet a melody as when the gods themselves walk (creating an almost hypnotic music) as described by the Sama Veda (Veda of Holy Songs/Poetry).

Pragdisa vineeya paina dinakara mayoogha tantrulapaina
(Look to the east, as the sunrises - on the gentle rays of the early dawn)

Jagrutha vihanga tathulai vineela gaganapu vedica paina
(Early morning flock of birds are seen dancing on the stage of a blue sky)

Palikina kilakila tvanamula swaragathi jagathiki sreekaramu kaaga
Viswakaryamunakidi bhashyamuga...
(The chippering of the birds *kila kila* welcome a new day, a new sunrise as the entire world wakes up to their tunes, despite of all barriers of language - this is one which is an universal language)

Janinchu prathisishu galamuna palikina jeevananaada tarangam
(The first cry of a newborn is the sound of Life)

Chetana pondina spandana dhvaninchu hrudayamrudangadhvanam
(The first heartbeat that you feel from the infant's chest is being compared to the sound of a mrudangam = a percussion instrument, sorta like two sided drum)

Anaadiraagam aadi talamuna anantha jeevana vaahini ga
Saagina srushti vilaasamu ne...
(Through the first cry of the newborn, the sound of his heartbeat - life flows through him continuously, the way the universe has been working for ages)

Virinchinai virachinchitini ee kavanam..
(I've taken the form of the Creator Brahma to describe this kavanam)

Na uchwasam (inspiration/inhalation) kavanam
Na nishwasam (expiration/exhalation) gaanam...

The Essence of Life, OM...that which flows through the entire universe and every living being is so beautifully penned by "Sirivennela" Sitarama Sastry reminding us that in all its entirety, we are one with the universe and each other :)
